Live is where it really happens

Caught Willi Williams live twice now and both shows raised the bar. Stage presence is magnetic, the band reads each other instinctively, and the crowd interaction never feels forced. Studio recordings are good — live is essential.

Talented but unfocused

There's clear talent in Willi Williams's work but the direction shifts album to album in a way that feels reactive rather than chosen. A more committed vision would make a huge difference.

Underrated

Willi Williams should be on more playlists than they are. The songwriting craft is there, the voice is distinctive, and the production keeps getting better. Word will spread.

Thanks for the honest review — fair points well made. The pacing critique especially is something we're thinking about for the next project.

Consistent quality

Willi Williams has been releasing strong material steadily for years. Nothing has blown me away the way some of the early work did, but the floor is high and the work ethic shows. A reliable listen.

About
One of the true foundation members of reggae music. Best known as a producer and as the composer of "Armagideon Time" an international hit song for himself and the British Pop Group "The Clash". Willi Williams has been writing, producing and performing music for over 35 years. Williams' songs express his vision, ideals and philosophy through music that speaks to audiences of all kinds. His performances internationally have touched Reggae and Pop fans alike. "Like Marcus Garvey and Bob Marley, Williams carries with him what Bunny Wailer would term 'prophetical messages,' those of human co-operation and uprightness:" Kareen Karim, Echoes, London A soft-spoken man with a clear sense of purpose, Williams sings with a combination of laid-back beauty and intensity. His arrangements are an unorthodox blend of Reggae and Soul Rhythms, possibly the result of his varied early influences which includes Reggae Stars Delroy Wilson, Bob Andy, along with Quincy Jones, Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder and Four Tops.
