Catalog depth is unreal

Been digging through Bob Marley's discography for the last month. Every era has at least three essential tracks. The growth from the early material to the recent work is something special — few artists evolve this gracefully.

A true original

Bob Marley doesn't sound like anyone else, which in this scene is harder than it should be. The voice is distinct, the writing has fingerprints all over it, and the production choices show real point of view.

Consistent quality

Bob Marley has been releasing strong material steadily for years. Nothing has blown me away the way some of the early work did, but the floor is high and the work ethic shows. A reliable listen.

Not connecting for me

Have tried multiple Bob Marley releases on recommendations and the writing doesn't land. The production choices feel safe and the lyrics rarely surprise. Glad others enjoy it but it isn't for me.

Brilliant in flashes

Bob Marley has a couple of all-time tracks but the rest of the catalog hasn't matched it. Hoping the next era doubles down on the strengths. The vocal is too good to be applied to weaker material.
